Free Recipes For Children With Food Allergies

If your child is found suffering from food allergy, you may have shown great concern on what they can and cannot consume. The food allergies which are prompted by various foods range from mild to severe. The FDA names the eight most common foods to cause allergies as follows: eggs, milk, soy, wheat, tree nuts, peanuts, fish and shellfish. If your child is allergic to any of these foods, or other foods for that matter, you may be searching for free recipes for children with food allergies.

One great place to start your search is the Internet. Here you can find all kinds of free recipes of all sorts for your allergic child. Some children who are allergic to popular foods like wheat, milk, eggs and peanuts may feel deprived. It doesn't have to be that way, however. There are lots of fun recipes for foods that kids love. For example, there are plenty of great recipes for flourless cookies and cakes. If your child is allergic to peanuts but not tree nuts (there is a difference) there are products you can buy like Nutella that has the consistency and flavor of peanut butter but is made from a different substance.

The most important thing when searching for recipes is to make sure none of the ingredients contain the allergic substance or are prepared in a factory where the allergic substance is used. For example, a product that does not contain peanuts may have been packaged in a facility where peanuts are handled and therefore must be avoided. When cooking for your child think of handy substitutes that are similar to the original ingredient. For example, a lactose intolerant child may be able to handle soy milk which tastes very similar to dairy milk.

Another fantastic place to find free recipes for children with food allergies is the library.
